I first met Rachelle 2 or 3 years ago when I was working at my first studio residency. Through assisting in the supervision of the studio interns (including Rachelle), along side my mentor at the time, we were able to get to know each other. With a strong bohemian/ surfer chic vibe paired with a laid back personality, creative curiosity and a good work ethic its no surprise that we got along well.
Despite going our separate ways after her internship came to and end, and I moved on to other photographic roles, social media enabled us to stay somewhat in touch until a chance meeting during October in the Perth CBD. With the same friendly and positive personality (almost unchanged in the space of 2 years) I knew I wanted to do a shoot with her before the year was out, and felt certain that these core elements of her personality would shine through any images.
After some catching up and discussion of my idea Rachelle agreed and we made a plan to shoot. Only to be postponed due to overwhelming work schedules. Not to be put off however, Rachelle was immediate in rescheduling so that we could shoot as soon as possible.
I really feel that what we achieved really exhibits the core elements of Rachelle's personality.
Energy, Compassion, Openness and Sunlight.
A beauty with no hard edges.
